Summer Class

Here is our
class schedule for Summer 2010. We are striving to
offer a variety of classes to help you to learn new
techniques while working on fun projects. If you are
interested in a particular class that is not on the
schedule, please contact us at the store and we will do our
best to add it to the list.
NOTE:
We ask that all participants register in advance for
classes and purchase their materials prior to the first
class. A non-refundable $15 registration fee (applied
towards the class tuition) is required. All materials
purchased for the class will be discounted 10%.
Learn to Knit

Beginner
Pre-registration is required.
Always wanted to knit? This is your perfect
opportunity to learn. In a relaxed and stress-free
environment, participants will learn how to cast on and the
knit stitch in Lesson 1 and the purl stitch in Lesson 2.
Upon completion you will have all the skills necessary to
make your first scarf!

Mobeius Scarf

Learn the
magical mobeius knitting technique made famous by Cat
Bordhi.
Emily Arnold
from Emily's Needleworks in Athol, MA
will teach this one-day course where you will learn the
techniques necessary to create beautiful mobeius scarves in
a variety of sizes. The purchase of Cat Bordhi's
Treasury of Magical Knitting
is required as part of your class materials.

Reversible Cable Scarf

Want to learn how to knit cables? This is the class
for you! Knit a beautiful scarf with cables that
can be seen on front and back of the scarf. This
simple technique will impress your friends!

Drop-Stitch Scarf

When is
dropping stitches a good thing? When you are doing it
intentionally to make a beautiful scarf! Lynda will
teach you everything you need to know to make a scarf that
will be the envy of all.

Mochi Plus Springy-Ringed Cuff Mittens

Using Mochi Plus yarn, participants will create a fabulous
pair of mittens with a unique cuff where the yarn does all
of the color work for you!

Leafy Diamond Lace Scarf

Interested in trying your hand at lace knitting? Using
Jojoland Melody yarn and a repeating lace pattern, you will
create a beautiful scarf that you might like too much to
give away as a Christmas present!
Note: Participants should have experience knitting
with fingering-weight yarn on small (size 4) needles.

Knitting Two Socks
at a Time

Pre-registration is required.
Conquer the dreaded "second-sock syndrome" by learning to
knit both socks at the same time!
Emily Arnold from
Emily's Needleworks in Athol, MA
will teach you how to do this using two circular needles.
This technique is a must for anyone seriously interested in
knitting socks. Note: Prior
experience with knitting socks is strongly recommended.

Child's Sweater Class

If you
want a certain class that you do not see on the list and have
three friends that would like to join you, we will work with you
to create the class. You can choose the skill level of
the project and work with an instructor to structure the
class dates and time.
Maximum

Skill Levels
Beginner:
Knows knit and purl stitches and is looking for a good,
first-time project
Advanced
beginner:
Very comfortable with knit and purl stitches, has completed
several scarves or other projects
Intermediate:
Comfortable knitting with different weights of
yarn--particularly lace and fingering weight--and ready to
learn new, more advanced techniques.
