CLASSES

The Knitting Knook offers a variety of classes for all levels and ages. Costs for classes and materials vary. We offer a 10% discount on our materials purchased for classes at the Knitting Knook.

Beginner & Intermediate

 

Designed for the novice knitter, these classes focus on fundamentals and fun projects that are completed by end of class.  All materials purchased for classes will be discounted by 10%.  A $15.00 non-refundable registration fee is required for all classes.  The registration fee will be applied towards your class tuition.

 Winter Schedule

 

 

 

Learn to Knit

Dates: January 31 & February 7, 2009

Time: 2:30 - 4:30

Cost:  Free

Level:   Beginner

A very basic class.  You'll learn how to cast on stitches, knit and purl (only if you are up for it).  A great refresher class for someone who hasn't picked up the needles in a while.

 

Socks on Circular Needles

Dates: 2/3 thru 2/17

Time:  6:00 - 8:00

Cost:  $35.00, plus materials

Level:  Intermediate

Try something new!  Using two circular needles you'll make socks.  Susan has come up with a twisted rib pattern for the class.  Once you knit socks on circular needles you'll never pick up a double-pointed needle again!

 

Needle Felting - Sheep

Dates: 2/4 & 2/11

Time:  6:00 - 8:00

Cost:  $30.00 includes materials

Level:  Beginner

Try something new!  Using roving and felting needles you can create your very own animals, we'll be working on sheep.  These creations make great gifts and are fun to make!

 

Learn to Knit - Next Step

Dates:  2/21, 2/28 & 3/7

Time: 2:30 - 4:30

Cost:  $35.00 plus materials

Level:   Beginner

You've probable conquered the knit and purl stitch and knit as many scarves as you can imagine, so it's time to move on.  In this class you will knit two-needle mittens.  After finishing this class you'll have the skills to knit your very first sweater.  You will learn how to read a pattern, increase and decrease stitches, pick-up stitches, learn to correct your mistakes and finishing techniques.  This is also a great refresher class if you haven't spent much time with your needles lately.

 

 

Design Your Own Class

If you want a certain class that you don't see on the list and have 3 friends that would like to join you, we'll work with you to create the class.  You can choose the skill level of the project and work with an instructor to structure the class dates and time. 

Class limit: 6

 

 

 

Level Key

Beginner:  little or no experience knitting

Advanced Beginner:  Is very comfortable with knit and purl stitches and has made several scarves or other projects.

KNITTING GROUPS-

A gathering to share ideas, learn from one another, meet friends, knit or crochet and have fun! Just drop in, it's free! All are welcome.

 

Times: Tuesday Lunch time group, meets around noon for a few hours, drop in and stay for a bit or for the whole time!

Thursday evenings 6:00 - 8:00
