SPRING CLASS LIST

PERSONALIZED INSTRUCTION

We love to knit and want to help you love it just as much!  We continue to schedule classes that sometimes meet the needs of our customers but, many times no one is interested.  When no one signs up for our classes it doesn’t help us reach our goal of sharing that love for knitting.

At the same time, customers often say, “I know how to knit and purl but don’t know how to follow a pattern.”  Hard to make a hat or a sweater that way!  So. . .

We have a challenge for you as well as us.

Step 1:   Stop by the store to find a pattern (or chose one online) that you would like to knit.

Step 2:  Let us know which Tuesday night or Thursday morning you would like to start.  Pay an initial fee of $25 for your first two hour personalized class.  (You will also be given a 10% discount on all the materials purchased during Step 3.)

Step 3:   On that day and time, Lil will be in the store to help you determine the yarn and needles to use, will help you adjust your gauge and get you started.  In that first two hour session, we should get a good head start on your project.  We'll also read through all directions and try to head off future questions.

Step 4:   You can then schedule future classes on a $10 per hour basis only if and when you need them.

We will continue to schedule Learn to Knit classes on Sunday afternoons as follows:

May 5 and 19

June 9 and 16

July 14 and 21

August 4 and 11

September 15 and 22

WHAT’S NEW IN THE CROCHET CORNER?

If you prefer to crochet, Sedie has added the following dates to her schedule:

On May 9 & 16 from 6 - 8 pm she’ll be here to help Intermediate students work on making a sweater.

On May 23 & 30 from 6 - 8 pm she’ll be here to offer the same for personalized instruction in Crochet.  If more days are needed we’ll add more in June.

QUEENSLAND COLLECTION

Intermediate

We have some beautiful new Queensland yarn and patterns to go with it.  Drop by and see what you think. If you’d like to try it out, now’s the time.

                                                                                               Tuesdays – 6:00 to 8:00 PM

$50.00 plus materials

SOCK, SOCK, SOCKS

INTERMEDIATE

This class seems to be forever popular.  Once you have a pair of hand knit socks, it’s hard to return to the six in a package kind!  While Lil personally prefers the Magic Loop Method, we can do socks on double pointed needles or Socks on Circs if you prefer.  IF you are a master at the Magic Loop and are ready for Two-at-a-Time we can do that as well.  We’ve changed to a 3 session class because the 3 distinct parts of the sock shaping seem to lend themselves better to that schedule.

                                                            Tuesdays – May 21, 28 & June 2

6:00 to 8:00 PM

$65.00 plus materials

Summer Sweater

EXPERIENCED

A wool sweater needs to be stored until winter, but with all the great new yarns that are available, there is no reason to not work one in a lighter weight for the cooler summer evenings we have in New England.  We’ve set aside 3 consecutive Tuesday nights, but this schedule can be modified to fit the needs of class members.

Tuesdays – June 11, 18, & 25

6:00 to 8:00 PM

March 19

$65.00 plus materials

OUR PROMISE TO YOU:  Please rest assured that when you sign up for a class project, the instructor will see you through to completion.  Some knit faster than others.  Some have more time to knit.  We aren’t always ready for the next step at the time of the class.  Whatever goes awry, we will see you through!

ALWAYS TRYING TO ACCOMODATE

We’ve tried to provide variety in both topics and times but we can’t ever meet everyone’s needs.  If you like the class but not the time or date, give us a call and we’ll try to re-schedule.  If you have something you really want to learn how to do, give us a call.  We may be able to work out a solution.  Please share your thoughts in person, on the phone or by email to This email address is being protected from spambots.
